PhosphonicS Acid Catalysts
PhosphonicS heterogeneous acid catalysts are effective for a wide range of acid-catalysed processes, simplify reaction processing and reduce waste. At process scale, the elimination of mineral acid waste streams can furnish significant savings, while at discovery scale the ability to completely remove the catalyst simply by filtration offers considerable time advantages.
Characteristics
- Particle size: available from 45-70 μm to 3-5 mm; irregular chips and spherical particles available
- Pore diameter: Typically 60, 90, 110 or 150 Å average.
- Solvent compatibility: Any organic, chlorinated, or aqueous systems (mildly basic to acidic).
- Thermal stability: stable up to 120 °C under most conditions. More thermally stable catalysts available.
Advantages
- Zero swelling of catalyst particles
- Ease of recycling - simply filter, wash and reuse
- Long catalyst lifetime
- No contamination of product
- No acid waste generated
