PhosphonicS™ expertise in immobilisation onto silica supports has been demonstrated most prominently to date in the areas of Heterogeneous Catalysis of synthetic reactions and Organic & Metal Scavenging from pharmaceuticals, where our products, containing multiple optimised immobilised functionalities, have been cost-effectively used from Process Development through to Manufacture.
More recently we have developed our technology for the immobilisation of enzymes, and in initial studies, PhosphonicS™ products outperform commercially available standards for important industrial applications such as the resolution of racemates, increasingly used to prepare chiral intermediates as precursors to pharmaceutical products.
A covalent binding approach to our tunable silica framework imparts high stability (no enzyme leaching, easier product separation, enzyme re-use) and allows broad operating conditions (aqueous & organic solvents, high temperatures, flexible process conditions & reactor formats including continuous flow) whilst retaining high activity and, due to a unique ability to surface modify the Immobilised Enzyme (IE), extremely high selectivity.
Components of PhosphonicS™ IEs can be widely varied to provide screening kits for initial IE selection, following which particular parameters can be further tuned to deliver optimum performance.
