PhosphonicS™ is a privately owned technology company specialising in functionalisation of solid materials.  These materials can be used as metal scavenging and recovery agents, for trace organic impurity removal, or as heterogeneous catalysts.  The key advantage of functionalised solid materials is their ease of manipulation, e.g. simple separation from the rest of the medium by filtration.  PhosphonicS technology allows for a broader range of surface chemistry at a larger scale and lower cost.

We are a chemistry company, and our chemistry allows us to tackle a broad range of applications - from the removal of precious metals from chemical, refining and mining streams in the industrial setting to enabling higher purity pharmaceuticals, flavours and fragrances through trace metal extraction .  Many of our products are available in tonne quantity off the shelf with extensive supporting product information.  We also can design customised materials for especially difficult or high volume applications.   

We take a solid support, typically silica, and we attach to this the functionalised group.  It is the functionalised group that does all the work, for example tightly binding a precious metal or acting as a catalyst.  What makes our chemistry unique is the heteroatom and spacer technology.  This allows us to attach a much wider area of functional groups to a solid surface than previously available at a much lower cost.
