PhosphonicS was first supported by various funds specialised in the commercialisation of research at University of London.  Sussex Place Ventures, affliated with London Business School, oversees these investments.  Significant funding in 2005 came from the private investing team of Nick Cross and Ian Laing whose previous investments include Oxford Asymmetry, Oxford Semiconductors and the development of Milton Park.  A further round of £3.5m was closed in January 2010 with the French Venture Capital firm Seventure.
