MTCf is a high performing silica-based thiourea scavenger.
It has a high affinity for platinum group metals and for Cu but will also remove a wide range of other metals from APIs and products.

A pharmaceutical intermediate contained 900 ppm Cu following an indazole coupling. treatment of a solution of product in acetonitrile at 70 degrees C as a batch slurry overnight with MTCf reduced the Cu to 8 ppm.
An Oncology product (IGF-1R tyrosine kinase inhibitor) used PdOAc2/PPh3 in a Suzki reaction. MTCf was used to remove the Pd present to < 5ppm.
